Database design

Generally speaking people use the term ‘database’ when referring to software package that is used to collect and store information electronically. This is done in such a way that it is easy to find, retrieve and manipulate specific information, which can then be presented in a report to print or to publish on the web.

Here are just a few examples of different types of databases:

  • Databases for business:

  • Accounting
  • Sales
  • Stock control
  • Human Resources
  • Contacts management

  • Databases for Non-profit organisations:

  • Information storage and retrieval
  • Donor management
  • Contacts management

  • Databases for personal use:

  • Address book with personal details
  • Catalogue of DVD/Book/CD collection
  • Catalogue of recipes
  • Personal finance
  • Keep track of your fitness/athletic programme

If you feel that any of the above systems would be beneficial to you, your business or your organisation please get in touch and we can provide you with further information and details for your own specific requests.
